What we collect

When you order: your name, shipping address, email address, and what you bought. That is the minimum needed to get a jar to you and to help if something goes wrong.

When you join the newsletter: your email address, and nothing else. When you simply browse: nothing that identifies you. Your cart lives in your own browser's storage, not on our servers.

What we never do

We do not sell your data, rent it, or trade it. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.

There are no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics pixels, and no cross-site profiling on this site.

Who else touches it

A few companies handle data on our behalf so the shop can function. They are contractually limited to doing that work and nothing else:

Stripe processes payments. Card numbers go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers — we only ever see the last four digits and whether the payment succeeded. Cloudflare hosts the site and routes our email. Neon stores order records. Klaviyo sends the newsletter, if you asked for it.

We will also hand over information where the law actually requires it. If that ever happens and we are permitted to tell you, we will.

Email

You only receive marketing email if you asked for it, and every send has a working unsubscribe link that we honour immediately.

Order confirmations and shipping notices are different — those are part of the transaction, so you get them whether or not you are on the newsletter.

Cookies & storage

Your cart is kept in your browser's local storage so it survives a refresh. It never leaves your device until you check out, and clearing your browser data clears it.

The only cookie we set is a sign-in cookie for the shop owner's admin area. If you are a customer, you will never be given one.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require — currently seven years — because we are obliged to. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Ask us to delete anything that is not legally required and we will.

Your rights & contact

Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you are in California, Nevada, or a state with its own privacy law, those rights are yours by statute; we extend the same to everyone regardless.

Email hello@mellowtallowusa.com and we will answer within 30 days. We will not charge you for it, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

Children

This shop is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to hello@mellowtallowusa.com and we will remove it.
